Welcome to the memorial page for

Wayne J. Reeme

September 2, 1944 ~ July 17, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Wayne Joseph Reeme was born September 2, 1944 to Ken and Nora (nee Supple) Reeme. He had 3 sisters, Sheila, Carrol and Daphne as well as 6 brothers, Lawrence, Arlen, Gene, Cory, Lovall and Sternie.

Until his employment with IMC in Esterhazy, Sask., Wayne worked as a labourer on various farms. Wayne was very proud of the job he held at IMC for over 23 years, until his retirement.

He actively involved himself in activities he loved after retiring.  Simple things like gardening and mowing lawns or digging gardens, perpetual care at the cemetery or fixing things down at the Legion Hall. He continued helping with tours of the mine, company hockey tournaments and the children's Christmas party for many years. He loved kids and he was fascinated by them.  When we visited, there was lots of laughter, games and nonsense play.

Wayne became a resident of the Centennial Special Care Home in 2013. I still see him dancing in the halls with his caregivers or running for coffee. I hear his very distinctive walk across the floors.

Wayne never married, never had children of his own. He was an extremely private man. If you were in his life you were there because he wanted you there. He kept to himself, never bothered anybody for anything, never asked. He remained extremely close to his neighbour and good friend across the way and his sister, Sheila, to whom he took care of in life and also in his death. They have an unbreakable bond - very rare.

The casket Wayne chose for himself is closed. Picture him wearing his black jeans, his “Wayne’s World” t-shirt with a black striped dress shirt. He is clean shaven and looking very handsome. His watch has been set to the correct time.

Wayne’s death is joyous in the fact that he is not in pain, he is peaceful and he is free.

 ~ Rest Easy ~
