Victor was born February 10, 1937 to Frank and Margaret (Helmeczi) Lippai in Esterhazy. Victor was the second of six children. Anne was the oldest and then Victor, then came Elvie, Francis, Bert and finally John.
On October 14, 1963 Victor married Audrey Toth and they started their lives on the family farm two miles from where Victor had grown up. There they had three children: Char, Lisa and David.
Victor took on different types of work to provide for his family. He worked construction when the mine at K1 was being built and then was hired on for full time work. He worked most of his career at the mine in the warehouse as well as inventory control with IMC which gave him an opportunity to meet so many different people. Victor had a total of 42 years at IMC including the construction years retiring December 31, 1999. During his time at the mine he also raised cattle (for a short period of time) as well as farmed up until last year. After retiring from IMC, Victor continued with the love of farming—up until last year.
Victor had a love for playing slow pitch baseball at all the school picnics and was involved in the Knights of Columbus for a short period of time. He enjoyed wood working, playing cards (losing was not an option), hunting and fishing, farming, spending time with friends and family. His cat Scooter always by his side.
He was blessed with five grandchildren which were all special to him in their own way – Cody, Tyler, Kyle, Bryce and Jenelle.
Victor is survived by his wife, Audrey. His daughters, Char (Blaine), Lisa (Elgin) and his son David (Wanita). He is also survived by brothers Bert (Elaine), John (Linda) and sisters Elvie (Dennis), and Francis; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Margaret, brother-in-law Hector Hamilton, sister Anne Hamilton, brothers-in-law Greg Toth, Morley Seman, Dwight Duchek, and Ken Anderson, father-in-law Charles Toth, mother-in-law Mary Toth, as well as nephews Ben Duchek and Jason Ecklund.
Vic’s family thanks everyone for their expressions of sympathy.
