Vernon Barnett of Atwater, Saskatchewan passed away September 16, 2024 at Yorkton Regional Hospital, at the age of 73.
Vernon was born in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. He lived in British Columbia for the majority of his younger years, working first as a feller and then as a dozer operator for various logging companies.
In 1994, the family moved to Vermilion, Alberta where Vernon went to work for Nilsson Brothers Livestock Exchange. He worked here until his health started to decline and he was forced to retire.
Upon retirement, Vernon moved to Saskatchewan to live with his daughter and family. Vernon spent his last 11 years surrounded by the love of his grandchildren.
Vernon was predeceased by his mother, Edythe and father Albert, as well as his brother Eddie.
He is survived by his two sons, Jamie and Kyle (Lanie), daughter, Pam, and seven grandchildren, Shelby, Tegan, Dakota, Daniel, Lorne, Jace and Gunner; two brothers, Allan (Melody), and Lawrence (Nell) and two sisters, Vera (Ken) and Lorraine.
A service will be held at a later date in Vermilion, Alberta.
