Roderick was born on February 8, 1935 to Belva and John Morrison in Esterhazy, SK. He grew up and attended school in Esterhazy with his brother Clayton and sisters Sharon (Kuhnie) and Heather (Debnam).
With his love for ships and the ocean Roderick joined the marines after finishing school. Upon returning home he worked at the coop creamer. On September 29, 1956 he married the love of his life Marjorie Ficek and they were blessed with two sons, Kevin and Shawn.
Roderick received his Refrigeration Engineer’s Certificate on May 15, 1969 and his First Class Engineer’s Certificate on May 26, 1970 from the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Act. He worked at IMC until his retirement in 1992. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for the Esterhazy fire department.
Roderick and Marjorie loved to spend time traveling around the world together and always had a new and exciting destination planned for their next holiday. Their zest and happiness for life was easy to see each day they had together.
Roderick always had a tender heart and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had a watchful eye as they played. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather and we will miss him dearly.
Roderick is predeceased by his parents Belva and John, brother Clayton and sisters Sharon and Heather, and by his beloved wife Marjorie in 2008.
He leaves to mourn his sons Kevin (Deborah) Morrison of Round Lake and Shawn (Loreen) of Calgary. His grandchildren Kevin (Holly), Kristie (Colin), Kylan (Haily), Kailie (Tyson), Heidi, Lukas. Great grandchildren Teasa, Rylund, Samuel, Reid, Owen, Jacob and Ethan.
