Mildred Moore

Mildred Ann Moore of Tantallon passed away December 26, 2022, surrounded by family at St. Anthony’s Hospital at the age of 92. She was born on February 7, 1930, in Kitchener, Ontario to Francis and Mary (Hudacek) Minarik. Mildred was the second of four children: Frank, Clifford, and Leonard.

When Mildred was a young girl, her family moved and settled in the Qu’Appelle Valley near St. Luke. She attended DeCorby and St. Istvan School. Growing up Mildred enjoyed riding horses, playing sports, gardening, and helping on the family farm.

In 1951, Mildred went out with Albert Moore to a St. Luke’s dance. On May 5, 1953, they were married at Kaposvar Church and soon blessed with 11 children. Mildred was the most loving, sincere, devoted woman dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and household. She could be found happily in the kitchen, with daily fresh bread, baking, and meals ensuring no one was left hungry. Married almost 65 years, Mildred and Albert witnessed their family bloom into 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and still growing.

Mildred was predeceased by Albert Moore (husband), Francis and Mary Minarik (parents), Frank and Treasa Minarik (brother and sister-in-law), Clifford Minarik (brother), Adeline Minarik (sister-in-law), Garnet Moore (son), Judy Moore (daughter-in-law), Chloe Moore (great-granddaughter), Alice and Pete Maga (sister- in-law and brother-in-law), Victor/Edgar Moore (brother-in-law).

Mildred leaves to mourn her 10 children: Garth (Bernie) Moore, Grant (Tracey) Moore, the late Garnet (Laurie) Moore, Karen (Wayne) Babyak, Garry (Cindy) Moore, Greg (Patricia) Moore, Bonnie Moore (Alex Kostiuk), Denise Moore, Shelly Moore, Glen (Dianne) Moore, Gilbert Moore. As well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred will be missed by all who knew her.
