It is with great sadness the family of Maude Bartok announces her passing on December 1, 2021, at age 94 years, at Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home.
Maude was predeceased by her husband Steve in June 2005. She was also predeceased by all 10 of her siblings. Remaining to cherish her memory are her four children, Wayne (Linda), Dan (Fiona), Joyce (Leonil), Myrna (Mel). She was also very proud of, and dearly loved all eight of her grandchildren, Leah Nelson (Myles), Lona Helmeczi (Kevin), Tyler Henry (Jody), Stephen Bartok (Kazumi), Mike Tuck (Abbie), Jocelyn Radies (Darren), Jesse Tuck (Suzanne), Sheldon Tuck (Lauren), and 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also, numerous nieces and nephews survive.
Maude was born in Esterhazy and remained close to Esterhazy her entire life. First on the farm south of town, then to the houses on Maple Street, then the house on Sumner Street. After her husband Steve passed away, she remained in the house on Sumner for a time, then moved into an apartment, before moving into “Sumner Place”. At Sumner Place she loved visiting with friends and neighbours and spent many late hours in the puzzle room. Maude also loved playing cards and didn’t like to miss Friday Bingo. In March of 2020 she moved into her new home at Morris Lodge in Bangor, Saskatchewan.
After retiring from her employment of 21 years at Esterhazy Hospital, Maude enjoyed many trips with family to such places as Arizona, California, Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico, and several countries in Europe.
The Family would like to thank all the Staff at Morris Lodge in Bangor for their kind, loving, and compassionate care they provided for Mom during her stay there. The Family also thanks the staff at Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home for their kind, loving and compassionate care for the past two months.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. Interment will be at the Kaposvar Cemetery.
