Peacefully passed away on Monday January 24, 2022 at the Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by her parents Rose and Leslie Toth; her sisters, Rhoda and her husband Steve Selagi, Louise and her husband RCAF FLT-LT Hector (Hec) Irwin, Eugenia (Jeana) and her husband Vince, her brothers RCAF FS Leslie Toth and his wife Adeline (Briggs), RCAF LAC Theodore (Ted) Toth, and Joseph (Joe) Toth and his wife Margaret. Survived by her loving sister-in-law Joy Sikora and her husband Wilfred (Wilf), as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews all across Canada.
Margaret lived a very full life. She loved to travel and enjoyed entertaining the troops during and after WWII where she was part of a travelling Army show. She was an excellent singer and was a member of many choirs throughout her life. Margaret moved out East in the early Fifties to Hamilton, Ontario where she worked at Canadian Pacific Telegraph. This turned into a life-long career with CNCP Telecommunications working as a teletype operator. You could say she was a “pioneer” of the Telecommunications Industry coming before e-mail and cell phones. In the early Eighties she moved back home to the West to enjoy her retirement in Esterhazy.
Margaret was a devout Catholic and a very proper lady who loved to share stories of her travels. She taught many of her nieces the correct way to set a table which has stayed with them to this day. Thankfully we all have many wonderful memories of our dear “Auntie Margaret”. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Centennial Special Care Home for their excellent care of Margaret, especially her sister-in-law Joy who was endlessly dedicated to her.
