Lyle Harvey Lowe was the 3rd child born to Cyril and Evelyn Lowe on March 8, 1949, in Esterhazy, SK. He grew up on the farm near Tantallon, which he left in his teens to work with his Uncle Stanley in Manitoba. He eventually moved to Ontario, where he met Diane. They married, were blessed with 2 children, and moved back to Saskatchewan, living in Uranium City and Saskatoon, before settling in Esterhazy 19 years ago.
Lyle worked underground most of his working life, in various mines throughout Canada. He was a man who loved and took care of his family and a great dad and Poppa.
He loved to be outdoors, snowmobiling, camping, golfing and fishing on his boat. He went to the legion often to play crib, and is one of the few players to get the coveted 29 point hand, which got his picture in the paper.
He loved kids, teasing them and rough housing. He was the favorite “uncle” to many. Lyle lived at the Centennial Special Care Home the last year of his life, close to his wife Diane. Lyle passed away on February 3, 2022 with his sister’s Lorna, Jean and wife Diane by his side. Lyle was predeceased by his parents, his son Ron, and several aunts and uncles.
Lyle is survived by his wife Diane, daughter Shirley (Rob), grandson Brayden (Grace); sisters Jean, Donna (Oliver), Lorna (Doug); brothers Bob (Sharon), Barry (Val), Brian; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
