Lona Duchek

Lona Marie was the fifth child born to Henry and Helen Duchek on September 22, 1956, in the Atwater District. She began her    education at Barra County School and went on to complete her studies in Esterhazy. After studying Cytology in Regina at the Pasqua Hospital, she began her professional career in Brandon, Manitoba.

Lona later moved to Winnipeg, and after several years, she continued her career in Ontario, working in Ottawa and North Bay.

In 2016, she retired and returned to Saskatchewan to be closer to her family. She made a new home and many dear friends at the Queen Elizabeth Court in Yorkton before eventually settling at Maple St. Manor in Esterhazy. Lona became friends with anyone she met.
