Born on August 23, 1942, Kenneth attended Country Forest Farm Municipality school and continued his education in Whitewood, SK. Part of his grade schooling included attending Cadets, which drew him into the Canadian Air Force. He trained in the Mechanical Program where he conducted aircraft maintenance, which included repairing brakes and landing gear. He always said that you had to go up in the plane after working on it, “so you best do a good job.” Ken had 2 Red Seal trade tickets as a millwright and heavy duty mechanic. He always encouraged others to get a trade. He mentored many young people in his trade and earned great respect in the trades from his peers.
Ken had many hobbies which included gardening, hunting, and the restoration of John Deere tractors, especially the John Deere M, which was his father’s first tractor. Ken was married to Jean Scantlebury in 1963 and they were blessed with two children. Ken remarried in 2004 to Judith Martin in Winterset, Iowa, USA.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Judith Martin-Cox, and his daughter Pamela Cox (Glen), son Brent Cox, stepsons Michael (Vanessa) Strykiwsky and Mark Strykiwsky, grandchildren Garrett and Jessica Harman, and step-grandchildren McKenna and Kohen Strykiwsky. Ken was the only child of this family. Ken loved his 4 cats Miss Kitty, Ziggy, Maple, and Abbybuttons.
The family would love to thank the St. Anthony hospital staff for the great care and understanding during Ken’s last days.
