Kayla Nadine Boehmer was a miracle born on November 29, 1992 at Regina General Hospital. From birth, Kayla was a force to be reckoned with and began living a life of bravery, resilience and determination. Kayla grew up in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan where she attended PJ Gillen Elementary School and Esterhazy High School. As an adult, Kayla spent some time at the Maple View Group Home in Esterhazy. Later, she moved back home and was cared for by special caregivers and her family.
Kayla treasured the simple joys of life: the outdoors, music and family. Music brought Kayla genuine joy in a way that nothing else could. She would clap and coo when anyone would sing to her or ring her bells. She spent many hours splashing around in the bath and floating at the pool. Animals were drawn to Kayla, always wanting to cuddle up to her and play. Summer was her favourite time of year as it meant long walks in the sunshine & warm bonfires at night. Her most favourite place to be was at Lake of the Prairies with her cousins, Dalaney & Kael. Kayla will always be remembered for her contagious giggle and joyful smile.
Kayla was predeceased by her grandparents, Alfred & Daisy Boehmer.
Kayla is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Glenda & Dave Boehmer; her grandparents, Carol & Jerry Wong; Aunties Patty Webb, Arlene (Ken) Lorenz, Kami (Dean) DePape, & Tracy Wong; and many special cousins.
Kayla passed away October 5, 2023 surrounded by her family and endless love. A service to celebrate Kayla’s beautiful life will be organized for summer 2024.
