John Edward Cooper

John Edward Cooper passed away suddenly on November 2, 2022. John was born on January 12, 1965 in Glenboro, Manitoba to proud parents, Raymond and Catherine Cooper. John was the eldest of six children. 

John spent most of his early years in Killarney, MB, moving to Moosomin in 1978 and then to Weyburn in 1979. In 1981, while his parents and siblings moved to Gerald, John stayed in Weyburn for schooling. While in Weyburn, John met Lee-Ann. John and Lee-Ann married in 1985 and welcomed three children together. After separating from Lee-Ann, John met Jody. They welcomed two children. The family then moved to the Esterhazy/ Langenburg area in 1996. He lived his final few years in Langenburg with special friend Tammey-Lee.

Throughout his time, John worked as a mechanic at B&G Auto Wreckers out of Weyburn, Nagy's Auto Recycling in Saltcoats, Duncan Construction in Spy Hill, and DJ Miller & Sons in Langenburg, among many other side jobs for various people along his travels. 

John enjoyed working on vehicles- especially his ranger, snowmobiling, darts, pool, farming, his cats, and handyman work. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and was so proud of his grandchildren.  

John always had time to chat, whether he saw you at the grocery store or on a phone call. He could fix just about anything and loved helping other people. 

John is survived by his parents, Raymond and Catherine (Gerald, SK); sons Erik (Christy) of Edgewater, BC, Jesse (Delaney) of Esterhazy, SK; daughters Amanda (Deyland) of Yorkton, SK, Beth (Darius) of Airdrie, AB, Jennifer (Matthew) of Weyburn, SK, and Amanda (Robert) of Findlater, SK; brothers Robert of Gerald, SK, Dennis (Bernie) of Yorkton, SK, Donald, Wayne, and sister Tammy (Willy) of Ebenezer, SK, his 13 grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm (SK time) at Gerald Municipal Cemetery (Hwy 22)
