Hilda Ann Hozjan

Hilda Ann Hozjan of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan passed away April 26, 2025 at Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan at the age of 91 years.

She was born on the family farm near Stockholm, Saskatchewan on July 28, 1933 to Joseph Sikora and Mary (Stadler) Sikora.  Hilda was one of nine children born to Joseph and Mary.

On June 17, 1952, Hilda married Joe Hozjan and they resided in Esterhazy,  She loved her daytime soap operas, flowers and loved to get her hands into the soil, mixing the perfect amount of soil and fertilizer for optimal floral and vegetable growth to feed to her small army.  Hilda also enjoyed hunting and fishing with Joe, to provide for her family.

Hilda was an avid Leafs / Blue Jays fan, but her number one joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed staying in contact with all her family and friends by phone.

Hilda was predeceased by her husband Joe, son Duane, brothers Joe and Adolf; sisters Theresa, Bertha, Gracie and Dorothy.

She is survived by children Lavern (Diane), Lawrence (Carol), Veronica (Jerry), Robert (Donna), Lenore (Joe), Herb (Cheryl), Don (Pam), Ron, Audrey (Joe), Derek (Trena); brother Wilfred and sister Christina; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, as well as two great-great- grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nel and the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Esterhazy, as well as the Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home for their attention and compassion.
