It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Harry Bruce Oxford at 79 on October 13, 2024 at Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy.
Bruce was born on May 21, 1945 in Springdale, Newfoundland, the third child of Emma and Warrick Oxford. Bruce’s early years were spent fishing before moving into the mining industry. In 1965, Bruce met his wife Joan and they were married on April 13, 1966. The couple had three children, Marlene, Dean and Perry.
The couple, along with their children, left Newfoundland in 1972 to pursue work. They lived for one year in Lynn Lake, Manitoba before settling in Thompson, Manitoba, where they resided until their retirement from INCO in 2003.
While in Thompson, Bruce and Joan welcomed their two grandchildren, Andrew and Rikki, with whom Bruce loved to spend time. Upon retirement Bruce and Joan returned to Newfoundland where hey enjoyed activities such as snowmobiling, ATVing and travelling, especially cruising. In 2022, Bruce and Joan moved to Esterhazy, Saskatchewan to be closer to their family, spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids.
Bruce leaves to mourn his loving wife Joan, children Marlene (Rick), Dean (Carol), and Perry, Grandchildren Andrew (Atheena), Rikki (Andy), great grandchildren Nakkita, Octavia, Mercedez, Tyler, Memphis and Linc. Also mourning his passing are his brother Woodrow and sisters Beryl, Fern and Evelyn, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
