It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George “Toby” Jamet, who left us on June 9, 2025, in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan at the age of 93
George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antoinette “Patsy” Jamet, his parents Leila and Fred Jamet, his sisters Marie and Eve, and his brother-in-law Ivan.
He is survived by his brothers Ray (Irene) and Bert (Victoria); his sisters Bun and Margaret (Cliff); brothers-in-law Cec and Mel; and Patsy's daughters—affectionately known as “the girls”: Allison, Karen, Faith, Penny Adrienne, and Jenny.
George was also deeply loved by his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A skilled carpenter for most of his life, George left his mark on countless projects across multiple provinces. But beyond his craft, it was George’s zest for life that made him unforgettable. He loved playing guitar and singing, never letting perfection stand in the way of joy. He had a dancer’s spirit—rarely did he ever sit out a song, always eager to “dance every dance.”
George had a special place in his heart for animals, nature , anything western .
As life’s road grew longer and more difficult, he was blessed with the steadfast love and support of two extraordinary people: Bun and Allison, whose care and compassion eased his journey.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Centennial Care Home and its devoted staff for their kindness and support.
A funeral service will be held on June 20, 2025, at Peter Carscadden Funeral Service Ltd. in Esterhazy, with a luncheon to follow at the Esterhazy Golden Jets. George will be laid to rest at Saint Hubert's Cemetery.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
