Geordie Prazma Obituary

Geordie Prazma of Yarbo passed away with his family by his side on October 10, 2019 at the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 69 years, ending his battle with cancer.

Geordie was a loving husband, father, and a devoted friend. He was born to John and Blanche Prazma on November 18, 1949 in Langenburg district. He attended school at Redpath, Yarbo and Esterhazy. Geordie was a hardworking man all his life beginning his career when he left school in grade 10 to work at IMC (Mosaic). He worked here for a couple years and moved to Prince George, BC to work in a sawmill. After 2 years he moved back to Yarbo where he once again worked at IMC (Mosaic) for the next 46 years. Geordie loved working, and especially loved the people he worked with. His work friends became like a second family to him, and he spoke highly of them often. Geordie received his GED, and Journeyperson Millwright while working at IMC (Mosaic). Geordie also farmed with his dad John for many years growing wheat, barley, canola, and flax. Geordie met his wife Nancy in 1981 and got married in 1983. He built a house for his family from the ground up and raised two beautiful children there. When God created Geordie as a father, he truly broke the mold. He was a devoted daddy and instilled many values that molded his children.

Geordie had a passion for the outdoors. He was often found out in the yard mowing the grass and taking care of it. He enjoyed gardening and watching the birds he left feeders out for. Geordie grew up hunting and fishing and continued to do this throughout his life with various friends, and family members. He was a member of the Wildlife Federation for many years and valued the work that they did.

Geordie was a well-rounded man and offered so much to everyone around him. If you knew Geordie, you knew he was a particular man. He paid meticulous attention to the smallest details in everything he did. He was honest, and always gave advice to those who needed. Geordie’s kindness was evident as he was never hesitant to help out anyone in need. He always had something humorous to say and brought laughter to any room. He loved animals dearly, especially his little critters at home.

Geordie will be deeply missed by many friends, family members, wife, son, daughter, and son-in-law.

Geordie was predeceased by his father and mother John & Blanche Prazma, sister Debrah Maron, and Grandparents. Geordie leaves behind his wife Nancy Prazma, son Bentley Prazma, daughter Breanne (Greg) Arnold. His brother Rob (Sharon) Prazma, sisters Becky (Richard) Busch, Tammie Nickle, Cindy (Harry) Pich. Also left behind are numerous nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thank you to all of Geordie’s friends and family members who comforted and supported him throughout his battle with cancer. Thank you to all the nurses who cared for him at St. Anthony’s Hospital and the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic/3B nurses. Geordie truly appreciated the warmth and kindness all these people brought to his life during his final months.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
