Frederick Bot

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Fred Bot of Esterhazy, SK. on January 24, 2022 at the age of 69.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penny Bot (nee Learmonth), his children Shannon Thorley (Mike), Shelley Mandzuk (Trent), Cory Gray (Lance), Ryan Bot (Spencer), Randy Bot (Ashley) and his six grandchildren.

Also surviving are his siblings; Shirley Wilhelm (Ron), Charlotte Hendren (Jim), Jim Bot, Joan Toop (Haines), Deb Bot and Wendy Bot (Darren).

Fred was predeceased by his father, Donald Bot; his mother, Theresa Bot (nee VanCaeseele) and his brother, Gary Bot.

Fred was well known and liked by all in the community. He never passed up the opportunity to stop and catch up with people.  He took a great interest in what was happening in Esterhazy – you could always count on Fred knowing the small but important details of people’s lives in his community.

In his early years Fred spent endless hours critiquing his pool game and Broom Ball, winning many trophies in both.

After graduating from Langenburg High school Fred went on to complete his Journeyman Certification in Masonry, Bricklaying and Stucco.  Fred worked very hard at mastering these skills and went on to build his own successful companies; Parkview Masonry and Crete-Tek. You can drive down any street in Esterhazy and see Fred’s exceptional workmanship on display.  He earned respect over the years due to his hard work and loyalty.

Fred built a family with Penny and their 5 children. Fred was happiest at the rink; he enjoyed watching and coaching his boys play hockey. You could always find Fred relaxed in his recliner quietly taking in the Bot house shenanigans! These shenanigans never stopped with the addition of each grandchild which brought daily joy to his life

No service will be held at this time as the family will lay him to rest a day when the sun shines bright.
