Welcome to the memorial page for

Frank Minarik

May 27, 1926 ~ June 27, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Frank was born on May 27, 1926 in the Qu’Appelle Valley to Frank Minarik, Sr. and Mary Hudacek.  As a boy, he attended  DeCorby School.  On November 3, 1953, he married Treasa Trohak.

Frank spent the majority of his working life driving trucks but, for over thirty years, his real passion was the rodeo and he accumulated many trophies racing chuckwagons and chariots throughout      Saskatchewan and Manitoba.  When he wasn’t travelling from rodeo to rodeo, Frank could be found on the lake, fishing, or at the Legion, socializing with friends.  But, more than anything, Frank loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he shared a special bond.

Frank passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 27, after a short battle with cancer.  He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary; his father and mother-in-law, Peter and Ethel Trohak; his    brothers-in-law, Peter Trohak, Jr., Willard Trohak, Adolf Trohak, Ernest Trohak, Géza Hegedus and Charlie Maga; and his sisters-in-law, Julia Trohak, Yolanda Hegedus and Adeline Minarik.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 ½ years, Treasa; his son, Dale (Brenda) Minarik, his daughter, Laurie (Gord) Webster; his grandchildren, Leah (Aaron) Aldous and Scott Webster (Crystal Hadikin); and three great grandchildren, Sofi and Miia Aldous and Colton Webster.  Frank is also survived by his sister, Mildred (Albert) Moore and his brothers, Leonard Minarik and Cliff Minarik, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Mark (Debbie) Minarik and Terry (Debbie) Minarik.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund, Esterhazy Royal Canadian Legion Branch #249 or to the Esterhazy   Centennial Special Care Home.
