Fred was born to Frank and Ilona Shivak, December 14, 1930.  His father came from Hungary in the early 30’s and settled in Lestock, then moved to Stockholm and started farming.            

Fred attended Separate School in Stockholm run by the Sisters of Social Service, and enjoyed his school years where he graduated from grade ten.  His favourite food was palacsinta and habapasewi soup.  Fred loved curling, playing cards, especially poker, travel, dancing, biking, and golf.  In his early twenties, he taught dancing in Winnipeg and after that came back to Stockholm to start farming.  He travelled the world including Africa, Europe, Australia, Malaysia, Cuba, Branson, British Columbia and Eastern Canada.  Fred enjoyed the company of friends and was a happy fellow full of jokes and laughter. 

Fred was predeceased by his parents; six sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret, Helen, Anne, Rose, Irma; two brothers, Albert and Stan; and all his brothers-in-law.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
