Floyd "Ziggy" Francis Morhart

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Floyd Francis Morhart.  Floyd (Ziggy) passed away on February 16, 2018 at the age of 58 years.  Floyd was born on a chilly morning on April 25, 1959.  He was the fourth child and youngest son of Wilfred and Mary (Desrosiers) Morhart. 

After receiving his education in Grayson and Melville, he took over the family farm to start his own legacy.  During the winter months Floyd worked in BC in the lumber, oil, and gas industry and while this was a challenging adventure he always returned to his true calling – THE FARM.

He married Peggy Antosh in 1987 and had three children, Dylan,   Callie, and Cody.  Floyd was a proud grandfather (papa) to Isabella who was the apple of his eye.

In his earlier years Floyd was an avid baseball and broomball player.  Floyd was an outdoorsman who loved fishing with family and friends whenever farming and work permitted.  He was an excellent mechanic and could fix and weld almost anything that needed repairing.  Floyd served as a councillor for the RM of Grayson for 12 years.

He spent the past several years working in the winter months for Ficek Transport in Esterhazy, a job he genuinely enjoyed.  Even though Floyd and Peggy moved into the town of Grayson in 2016, he continued to farm because as the saying goes, “you can take the man out of the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the man.”  This phrase sums up Floyd’s love of the land.  He was a quiet and caring individual that always had a welcoming smile and a clever comment for those who called him a friend.  He will be dearly missed.

Floyd leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Peggy, his three children Dylan, Callie (Rob), Cody and granddaughter Isabella.  He is also survived by his brothers & sisters, Sharon (Rudy) Duczek; Jerry (Lenora); Jeff (Carrie); Gwen (Ron Epp); mother-in-law Ellie Muzyka; and in laws Tim; Penny (Allen); Jeff and many nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.  Floyd was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Mary and brother-in-law Mark.
