Emily was born 31 December 1939 in Coronach, Saskatchewan the youngest of four children to Walter and Laura Marshall.
She left home at a young age to attend school in Bengough, Saskatchewan. She worked for several families providing care to their children and parents and as a secretary with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
She married Lyle Hedley 20 January 1962. They had 4 children, Irene, Marlene, Glen and Donna.
Emily volunteered in the community in various ways including as secretary/treasurer for the Spy Hill United Church and the Spy Hill Recreation Board, and as a member of the Ever Ready Club. Most recently she was active with the Esterhazy Friendship Quilting Group making quilts for individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Emily passed away at home the morning of 30 March 2021. She is survived by her husband Lyle, children Irene, Marlene, Glen and Donna (Stuart MacKenzie), grandson Brice MacKenzie, sister Audrey Paul, brother Lloyd Marshall (Wilma) and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Laura and by her brother Kenneth Marshall.
