It is with profound sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Ellis Ramstead. Ellis passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Ellis is survived by his four children: Kevin (Rheanne), Connie (Carey), Brian (Glendolene), and Trevor, and seven grandchildren: Kody, Taylor, Cassidy, Logan, Preston, Landon, and Tyra. Ellis is also survived by his sister Marlene (Larry) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Irene; his wife Mary; his brother Ranald; son-in-law Corey; and granddaughter Presley.
Ellis was born on August 24, 1943, in Broadview, Saskatchewan. He lived in Nipawin, Saskatchewan for two years while falling timber for the Prince Albert Pulp & Paper Mill and spent three years in Thompson, Manitoba while mining for International Nickel. He then moved back to Broadview in 1972, bought a farm, and spent the remainder of his career farming. Ellis enjoyed hunting and fishing and will be remembered for his gift of gab, and his great sense of humour.
The funeral service will take place at the Community Centre, 715 Main Street, Broadview on Friday June 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Abe Driedger officiating. Interment will take place in the Spruce Home Cemetery following the lunch.
