Elaine Lizacich was born on July 28, 1944 in Esterhazy, SK and passed away on January 10, 2026. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Zeneta, SK. After she completed school, Elaine was employed by the Post Office in Esterhazy. While working there, she met her husband to be, John Lizacich. They were blessed with 3 daughters, Glenda Nussbaumer (Ward), grandchildren Ben and Ryan, Phyllis Lizacich (Kevin Bewcyk), grandchildren Zachary and Dawson and Annette Lizacich (Jerad).
Elaine managed family life and worked full time at the Centennial Care Home and then St. Anthony’s Hospital for 30 years. She loved to help out in the community as much as she could by delivering Meals on Wheels, being a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Care Home Auxiliary, volunteering at the Golden Jets and helping out at Church.
Elaine loved to work outside in the yard and always had a big garden which was shared with friends. Her four grandsons always reminded her each Spring to “be sure to plant lots of peas”.
Elaine made many trips to Calgary to visit family. She also travelled to Australia, Mexico and California with her daughters. She visited the East and West Coasts of Canada with her husband John, as well as trips to interior BC to visit friends.
In 2022, Elaine and John moved to Yorkton, SK to be closer to family and made many new friends and were reacquainted with some old ones.
Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband John, parents Amyas and Lillian Hill and her brother Wilfred Hill. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family.
