Elaine Borth

It is with sincere sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Borth late of Esterhazy. Elaine passed away on Jan 1, 2026 at the age of 79 in the Yorkton hospital. She was born March 4, 1946 in Torquay, SK, the second eldest of eight children to Edward and Illiene (Melton) Borth.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Wanda, son-in-law Raymond Helmeczi and grandson Ryder, as-well-as, her sisters Caroline (Norman) Dean; Donna Sluzalo; Kathy (Ed) LaRose; one brother Kelly (Brenda) Borth; brother-in-law Awald (Bernie) Weger; sister-in-law Myrna Borth and all their families.

Elaine was a very active woman who gave of her time to different groups and associations whether it was sitting on boards, working bingos or helping with events.

She held several different jobs in her lifetime. She was a hairdresser, a waitress, a manager of a gas station, and a manager of housekeeping doing different hotel start-ups. Most recently she worked at the Esterhazy Esso and did private housekeeping prior to her retirement. She was not a lady afraid of work.

She loved her grandson more than anything else and was also a lover of horses, so watching Ryder with the horses and competing brought joy to her in the most delightful way.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents Edward and Illiene, her sister Maxine Weger, her brothers Donald and Dwight Borth and brother-in-law Blaine Sluzalo.

She will be remembered for her larger than life smile.
