Edith May Savage

Edith May Savage was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan to William and Edith Annie Potter. She was the youngest of seven siblings.  Edith went to Elementary and High School in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, and graduated in 1950.

Edith worked at a general store until she met and married Edward Savage on August 14, 1955. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Together, they raised two daughters, Cindy and Janice, and a son, Anthony (Tony). The family lived in Saskatoon until 1969, when they moved to Esterhazy, Saskatchewan.

Edith was employed for many years working as a home care worker, until her retirement.  Edith loved helping people.

She then enjoyed spending time with all her family and friends. Family was the most precious and important thing in her life.

Edith moved from living in her own home and into the care home for the remaining time of her life, where she became a “social butterfly”.

Edith passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 19, 2024.

Edith is predeceased by her parents, William and Edith Annie Potter, four older sisters and one brother, her husband  Edward Savage in 2006 and a daughter, Cindy in 1992.

To mourn her passing, Edith leaves daughter Janice (Lloyd) Nelson; son Tony (Crystal) Savage; Granddaughter Jennifer (Derek) Lagacé; great-grandsons Ty Nelson (Jay-lynn), Rylan and Sheynen Thomas; great-great-grandson Taylor Koch; and brother George Potter.
