Dorothy Knezacek Obituary

Dorothy Marie Knezacek  (nee Gilchuk) was born May 4, 1959, in Yorkton, SK to Pauline (nee Wereschuk) and Julian Gilchuk.

Dorothy "Speedy/Hunny” married the love of her life Ross Knezacek "Bug" on September 4, 1976. They moved out to the farmhouse outside of Esterhazy. At this time Dorothy continued high school and received her diploma.  They started their first chapter as grain farmers and working at the family scrap metal business.  Shortly after, they began their family and had two children Niel (Nicole) and Connie.  As years flew by, they were blessed with 5 grandchildren; Haily "Sunshine", Evan "Tigger", Tyson "Tiny Tim", Tanner "Rollie Pollie", and Jorah "Jelly Bean".

Dorothy and Ross filled their downtime with camping, fishing, sledding, quadding, and spending time with their family and friends.

Dorothy was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known for her incredible baking, particularly her scuffles and homemade bread, which were the highlights at all gatherings for the neighbors and friends.  She had a spirited personality and a mischievous sense of humor and was known for her playful pranks.

Dorothy "Baba" was the entertainment of any event with her great sense of humor and witty remarks. Baba had a talent for whipping up the wackiest nicknames for her grandchildren and every kid in the neighborhood.  "Sausage, Perogy, Gilligan, Lollipop, Abba, One Tonne, Two Tonne, Pocahontas, Bumblebee" only to name a few.

Dorothy is predeceased by her sister Barbara, brother Leon, parents Pauline and Julian; and stepfather Brian (Scotty).

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her husband Ross; children and grandchildren:  Niel (Nicole) - Evan and Jorah; Connie - Haily, Tyson, and Tanner;  siblings: Mike (Joanne), Julie (Glenn), John (Judy), Willy (Sheila), Paulette, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
