Dorothy Brick Obituary

Dorothy Rosina (Stodgell) Brick at the age of 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 18, 2023, at the Langenburg Centennial Care Home. Dorothy was born on November 1,1938. She was the eldest of three daughters born to Ivo and Fay Stodgell. Dorothy grew up in Transcona, Manitoba, where she attended school with perfect attendance (which she was very proud of). After completing her schooling, Dorothy started a job at Eaton's. While working at Eaton's, Dorothy met the love of her life, Rolly.

Rolly and Dorothy were married on March 2,1957. They honeymooned to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Dorothy and Rolly were blessed with three sons, Gary, Lawrence, and Donald. All three sons were born in Winnipeg. Shortly after Donald's birth, an opportunity presented itself and they moved to Melville.

While in Melville, Dorothy worked in the laundry room at the Melville hospital and Rolly bought her, her first car, so she could sell Avon. Along with raising their three energetic boys, Dorothy was a marvelous wife to Rolly. Dorothy knew the quickest way to Rolly's heart was through his belly!

Eventually, opportunity knocked on the door again and the Bricks were on the move to Churchbridge. While in Churchbridge, all three boys found the loves of their lives, Connie, Wilma, and Sharon. With the three girls extending the family, Dorothy finally had her daughters!

Dorothy loved her outings at Bingo and travelling with Rolly and her two sisters, Joan and Bill and Sylvia and Tom. Dorothy was always ready to have a game and beat her sons, daughters-in-law, and even her grandchildren at a game of crib. Dorothy was a very proud mother and grandmother.

After Rolly's passing in 2019, Dorothy moved to South View Place in Langenburg. In South View, Dorothy had her apartment which she was very proud of. She enjoyed the social aspect of South View, playing cards and of course, Bingo.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Ivo and Fay, her husband Roland, sister Joan Baron, brothers-in-law Roger, Maurice, Raymond, and sister-in-law Cecile. She leaves to mourn her three sons, their wives, Gary and Connie, Lawrence and Wilma, and Donald and Sharon, sister Sylvia and Tom Broneski, brothers-in-law Bill Baron and Marcel (Leva) Brick, sisters-in-law Lorraine and Tina Brick, her grandchildren Stephen and Erica Brick, Cailey and Dan Petit, Terra Lynn, Rylan, Joelle, Chantal and Austin, great-grandchildren Sophie, Hudson, Layla, Hazel, and Sydney, along with her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
