Donna’s life story is one of family, love, and perseverance. Born to Alfred and Doreen Herperger, she spent her childhood in Stockholm alongside her younger brother Loren. In 1972, she took a fancy to Lawrence, or least that is what he tells us. They were married on April 27, 1974. They welcomed their first child, Shawna in the Fall of that year. Their first and only son, Scot was born 2 years later. Lawrence thought two kids were enough but Donna convinced him otherwise. In 1981, Brandice was born and a couple years later Crystal made her arrival in the front seat of Lawrence’s new Monte Carlo. Believe it or not, Lawrence broke the speed limit in his attempted efforts to save his upholstery.
In addition to her role as a mother, Donna explored her passion for cooking, which eventually led her to establishing D & K Catering.
However, life's journey wasn't without its obstacles. Donna faced health challenges that impacted the trajectory of her life for the next 25 years. Despite these struggles, she remained resilient and focused on her family, and her passion for cooking. She enjoyed camping at the lake, catching fish, sewing, gardening, cooking, playing cards, hosting holiday gatherings with a 25 course meal, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Doreen and Alfred Herperger and son, Scot.
Donna is survived by her husband, Lawrence; daughters Shawna (Todd), Brandice (Craig), Crystal (Clayton); Grandchildren: Avery & Cole, Preslee, Gracyn & Lowyn, Felix, Ollie, & Charlie, and Demi, Dawson, and Dante; brother Loren (Angie), sister -in-law Elaine (Bob) and nieces and nephews: Trevor, Trent, & Dawn and Amanda & Skylar.
