Diane was the 8th child born to Emilia and Romuald Chabot. She was born at home in Larder Lake on October 1st, 1951. Her older siblings thought the Dr. brought baby Diane in his satchel and left with an empty one. When the children were allowed in, there was a new baby in the house!
Diane grew up in Northern Ontario with her 9 siblings as her companions. Her teens were spent waitressing, which is how she met her future husband. Diane and Lyle were married, blessed with 2 children, and moved to Saskatchewan, living in Uranium City and Saskatoon before settling in Esterhazy 21 years ago.
Diane worked in various fields but was primarily a homemaker to her family.
She was a very creative and talented person who had many hobbies over the years.
Macrame, ceramics, and quilting were a few. Many family and friends were lucky to be gifted her works.
Her favorite past times were playing cards, bingo, bowling, coffee with friends, fishing, gardening, and in later years you could find her in front of the television watching her favorite shows and often adding her own commentary. Every evening was for Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and a few rum and pepsi's!
She was a huge presence with a big smile.
Diane lived in the Centennial Care Home since late 2020, close to Lyle until his passing in February of 2022.
Diane passed peacefully on the morning of November 8th with her sister-in-law Lorna by her side.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, 6 siblings, her husband Lyle, and son Ron. She is survived by her daughter Shirley-Ann, grandson Brayden (Dalena), sister Julie, brothers Gilbert, and Maurice (Judy). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
