Dennis Arthur Willem Scarrow of Esterhazy passed away on October 5, 2025 at the Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home at the age of 79 years.
Dennis was born to Arthur and Willy Scarrow on August 26, 1946 in his grandparents’ home in Amersforrt, Holland. He came to Canada by ship with his mother. They couldn’t come until Dennis was six weeks old.
He grew up on the family farm in the Bavelaw District, SK. He remained on the family mixed farm from an early age. They raised purebred Horned Hereford cattle as well as growing grain. He met Donalda Rutherford and they married in 1966. They raised three children; Sheila, Carlene and Shawn. As he farmed, he pursued metal fabrication, forming Fab Tec Mfg., staying involved until 2014 when his health declined.
Dennis was a resident of the Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home for 11 years, where the staff and residents became part of his extended family.
Dennis is survived by his wife Donalda, son Shawn (Melanie) Scarrow, and daughters Sheila (Willy) Gilchuck and Carlene (Darren) Douglas, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Debra Carter and Barb Scarrow.
