David Kenneth Herperger was born in Esterhazy, Sask., the son of Leslie and Theresa (Molnar) Herperger.
David passed away at Yorkton Regional Health Centre on August 19th, 2023, after a lengthy hospital stay.
David was one of five children in the Herperger family.
After completing high school in Esterhazy, he went farming with his Dad and brother Denis. They had a large grain farm in the Atwater area until 1989, when the farm was sold.
David was then engaged in various other farming activities through the 1990’s such as raising Fallow Deer, Emu, and Ostrich. He also did custom combing in the area.
In 2003, David received his certificate for completing a course in Ag Pesticides. This was his return back to working with the land and grain farming. Shortly thereafter he came upon his dream job with BioAgronics as a Field Advisor, supplying micro-nutrient crop inputs to his farmer clients. He was with this company for over 20 years, enjoying meeting new clients and taking care of his existing customers. Many of these clients became like family to David.
During his early years David enjoyed playing football, hockey, but mostly fastball. Later in life he was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus.
His real pride and joy was caring for his yard; the Spruce trees and his lawn.
Throughout his life David had more health challenges than most, but his true nature always came back. He was a very caring, friendly, and generous person. People he met were just naturally drawn to him and came to cherish his friendship.
His caring nature was really evident as he cared for his mother during her later years.
David was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Theresa, and a brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his brothers Denis (Annemarie), and two sisters, Shirley (Boyd) Burrell, and Marion (Guy) Demeria, as well as various nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews – and lots of Uncles, Aunts and Cousins!!
“David, your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has you in his keeping. We have you in our hearts.”
