Crystal Raffey Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Crystal Nicole Raffey, 49, after a courageous and unwavering battle with cancer. Crystal passed away on January 12, 2025.

Born on April 8, 1975, Crystal was a vibrant, caring soul who touched the lives of everyone around her. Her love for life was contagious, and her energy was unmatched. Throughout her illness, she faced each day with immense strength, positivity, and grace. Crystal never complained, always bringing light into every room she entered.

Crystal was predeceased by her beloved grandparents. She is survived by her son, Nicholas (Nick), her two cherished dogs, Jackie and Fez, and her devoted family: her mother, Muriel, her father, Edwin (Florence), her brother, Lee (Erin) (nephew Pierce and niece Maeve), and her stepsisters, Tammy (Sam)(nephew Kayllum) and Denise, Kim (Scott), stepbrother, Wayne. Crystal’s heart was also filled with love for her special friends, Shyla, Lona, Michelle, Billy Jo, Janice, Sandy and many others who were fortunate to know her.

Crystal was a lover of animals, a passionate golfer, and a devoted CrossFit enthusiast. She had a true gift in the kitchen, especially as a baker, delighting everyone with her creations. Her love for cooking and her joy for life were evident in everything she did.

Above all, Crystal’s greatest love was for her son, Nick. She was a proud, devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide the best for him. Her love for him was unwavering, and she always wished for his happiness and success.

Though words cannot fully express the depth of our loss, we take comfort in the memories of Crystal’s love, kindness, and vibrant spirit. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and loved ones. She will be missed beyond measure, but we know that her spirit will remain with us forever.

We would like to thank the community for all the support throughout this difficult time. We also would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Pasqua Hospital and the Allan Blair Cancer Center, for all the care and support, during her long struggle with cancer.

We also would like to Peter Carscadden Funeral Services assistance with the funeral arrangements.

Rest in peace, Crystal. You fought hard, and now you can finally rest, surrounded by the love you so generously gave to all of us.
