Cecilia Kathleen Sikora

Cecilia Kathleen Sikora (Kristoff), was born October 31, 1927. She was the 9th of 10 children born to Elizabeth and Andrew Kristoff. In her early years she worked on the family farm and helped her mother take care of the household. 

Grandma married our Grandpa Joe Sikora on November 26, 1946 at Kaposvar church. They lived in the Kaposvar Esterhazy district for most of their life. They moved to Tullymet in 1976 and returned to Esterhazy 1987. Over the years they were blessed with 4 children—Maureen, Ramona, Florian and Michael—along with 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

After Grandpa Joe passed away, Grandma was blessed to find a new love in her life—Dan Vanderheaghe. Their marriage brought new adventures including travelling and golfing, and added many years of love, laughter, and companionship for Grandma.

Grandma loved baking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her door was always open, and visitors were warmly welcomed with a table full of homemade treats. Everything she made was prepared with love and was always delicious. Her kindness, hospitality, and the joy she found in bringing people together will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Anyone who knew our Grandma knew that her family was the center of her world. She was surrounded by love and, in turn, gave her love unconditionally. We never doubted how deeply we were loved and cared for, as Grandma was always keeping us in her prayers and looking out for our well-being. She was the devoted worrier of our family, always concerned about the wildest scenarios. Her constant care, prayers, and unwavering devotion will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Joe, her parents and in-laws, her 8 siblings and her second husband, Dan. 

She is survived by her sister Mary Tocher, her brother and sisters-in-law—Wilfred Sikora, Gladys Sikora, and Christine McKay. Her children—Maureen (Dennis) Toth, Ramona (Jack) Birnie, Flo (Joanne) Sikora, Mike (Kathy) Sikora. Her grandchildren—Darren (Melanie) Toth, Dexter (Louise) Toth, Cameron (Leah) Birnie, Lisa (Trent) Jordens, Blaine (Christine) Sikora, Amanda (James) Sikora, Neil (Jody) Sikora, Samantha (Tobias) Bolliger, Morgan (Karter) Maguire, 11 great-grandchildren, many members of her extended family, as well as members of the Vanderhaeghe family.
