Bertha Kristoff Obituary

Bertha was born to Joe and Mary Sikora and grew up in the Kaposvar District where she  attended school.  She would often share stories of her childhood, school days with friends and going to dances.  Her time was spent as a live in caregiver for families within the farming community and later she resided in Moosomin as a hairdresser.

She married John Kristoff on April 17, 1947.  They spent their early years busy farming and raising their children.  In 1956 they moved off the farm and into Esterhazy.

Bertha had a passion for music and enjoyed playing guitar.  She was an avid Bingo player, grew a plentiful garden and had a passion for her flowers.  She could be found in her kitchen baking and making preserves from all the berries her and John would enjoy picking.  In her later years she loved playing cards, bowling, watching baseball (especially the Blue Jays) and curling.

Bertha lived at Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home during the past few years.  She enjoyed being in contact with her friends and family through phone calls and cherished visits and always looked forward to sharing her daily activities.

Bertha was predeceased by her husband John in 2002, parents Joseph and Mary Sikora, sisters Grace and Dorothy, brothers Joseph and Adolph, as well as her infant granddaughter Kenzie and granddaughter-in-law Karen.

Left to mourn in her passing are her seven children: Yvonne (Tom), Germaine, Gerard (Shelly), Laura (Harvey), Adrian (Yvonne),  Rolandza and Tim (Suzanne), as well as her cherished grandchildren Jason, David, Darren, Bradly, Melinda, Kristine, Trina, Tamara,   Lincoln, Jade, Mitchell, Mark, Aaron, Michael, Jocelyn, Ashton,   Jonathon, Kathleen, and Joseph, and their spouses, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters Theresa, Hilda and Christina (Charles) and brother Wilfred (Joy), as well as, sisters-in-law Ceceila, Mary and Gladys, brothers-in-law Lyle and Mel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
