It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anniesteca “Ann” Bilokreli announce her passing on March 28, 2026 at the age of 83.
Ann was born in 1942 to Oswald and Emilie Spitzke in Yorkton. She grew up on the family farm near Springside, SK. She attended a one room schoolhouse two miles from her home until grade 8 when her parents moved off the farm and into Yorkton, SK.
Ann found work as a nurse’s aide at the Yorkton Auxiliary Hospital at the airport. During those years she met Don Bilokreli in 1960 and they were married in August 1962. They were blessed with two children, Kevin in 1964 and Lorie in 1967.
Ann and Don purchased a home in Esterhazy and enjoyed it for 58 years. Ann recently moved to Regina, SK to be closer to her children.
You could always count on receiving a beautiful smile, kindness, and generosity from Ann. She could make anyone feel comfortable in her presence.
She was also very active and would always have to be doing something. Cooking brought her joy. You would never leave her home hungry.
Favourite pastimes were baking, tending her garden and flowers, cutting the grass, snow shovelling and walking the streets of Esterhazy. Her employers at the Robinson Store and the Saan Store appreciated her hard work ethic.
She was so proud of her children, their spouses, and grandchildren, and would often make the trip to Regina to be with them and support them in any way she could.
When she moved to Regina, she enjoyed her home at a retirement residence and all that it had to offer. She enjoyed spending time with the ladies sitting at the front and visiting, walking outside in the warm summer months, and walking the halls in the winter. She received wonderful care and loved her time there even though it was for only a short time.
Ann is predeceased by her husband Donald Bilokreli, her parents Oswald and Emilie Spitzke, sister Olga Meyer, brother Harvey Spitzke, brother-in-law Rudolf Meyer, sister-in-law Lena Spitzke, sister-in-law Joan Spitzke.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Kevin (Kim) Bilokreli, Lorie (Steven) LaVallee, and grandchildren Kelsey (Mackenzie), Hannah, Clinton (France), Travis (Krystal) and great grandchildren Dace and Jaxon. She will also be remembered by her brother William (Eileen) Spitzke, and a sister-in-law Eileen, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at the St. Andrew’s United Church (550 Sumner St., Esterhazy, SK), officiated by Pastor Kevin Smith of the Esterhazy Baptist Church on April 20 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Esterhazy Town Cemetery.
