Alma Werner, loving mother of Evan, Bernadette, Holly and Tim, passed away at the Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home, on Monday, January 18th, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

Alma was born January 15, 1938, with her twin brother Ed at Meeting Lake, Saskatchewan (90 kms NE of North Battleford) and passed away January 18th, 2021 with her children by her side.

Alma, and her parents (Gabriel and Hulda) her brothers and sisters moved to the Rocanville area in 1942 when she was 4 years old. She spent some of her younger years helping her mom and sister, Lucy on the farm.

Alma graduated from Marvel Hairdressing school in June of 1957, which she used for many years and then 4 years later, in 1961 she  obtained her Dental Assistant certificate and worked in Weyburn for a Dentist until marrying Allan Kingdon in 1961. They had four children together, Evan Allan, Bernadette Alma, Holly Michelle and Timothy John. She was involved with many of the children’s activities, including 4-H, hockey, and figure skating.

She moved to Esterhazy in 1982, where she began working at the Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home. She furthered her education by completing the Special Care Aid Course and graduated in 1989. She worked at the care home until her retirement in 2003. While working at the care home she made many wonderful friends whom she spent her days off with. She spent many weekends going out with friends dancing, and loved spending time in her yard and gardening her flowers. She was fond of going bowling and playing shuffleboard, and visiting of course.

Alma is survived by her four children, Evan (Tracy), Bernadette, Holly (Neil) and Tim and their children: Alicia (Jon), Christopher (Chantal) and Lindsay (Joe), Quinn (Tanisha) and Hunter (Jaeleon), Brandon, Cheyenne and Kyra and great grandchildren Kiana and Lilly.

Alma was the last of her family living and is predeceased by her father Gabriel (1989) and her mother Hulda (1970). Also, by brothers Karl, William, Ed, George and sisters Hedwig, Lucy, Edith and Frieda.
