Robert Paul Dancsok passed away at the Centennial Special Care Home, Esterhazy, SK at the age of 97 years.
Robert was born in the Qu’Appelle Valley on April 30, 1921 to Frank and Pricilla Dancsok. Bob attended Decorby School, also in the Qu’Appelle Valley.
Bob joined the Armed Forces in 1938. He did his basic training on Vancouver Island and joined the Royal Canadian Scottish Regiment. He was stationed on the Island for Home Defence then later went to the front lines. He helped to liberate Holland and fought in Belgium, France and Germany.
After the War he moved back to the Esterhazy area. He bought land through the VLA and started farming with his brother George and sister-in-law Francis. Bob loved his cattle and haying season.
Bob was the youngest son of Frank and Pricilla Dancsok. He was predeceased by his sisters Margaret Munch, Virginia O’Keefe, Mary Coats and brothers, Frank, Arthur, Albert, George, Alfred, Rudy and Alex. Bob will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
