Lucille Marie
Born December 19, 1949 in Esterhazy, SK
Mom passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 after a valiant effort to overcome a rare cancer diagnosis. She was a fighter with a level of bravery and willpower that was something to behold.
She is survived by her children and their families Darrell (Jared and Caleb), Raquel (Gary, Bethany, Grace) and LoraLee (Marshall, Reid), all her siblings Larry, Wayne (Adeline), Corrie (Edgar) and Frank, numerous nieces and nephews and her Wascana family Darcy, Jasmine and Don who all meant the world to her.
Mom was always a combination of tenacity, courage and strength. She had grand ideas, saw beauty in everyday things and found adventure in the smallest of places. Farming for many years allowed her to keep her hands dirty in the garden and flower beds, collect enough round stones from the fields to make a mountain all while running a household and keeping life moving forward for everyone at home. After gaining some independence from a young family she ventured into owning her own bakery and catering company which she ran happily with the same determination and passion she had for farming all while making time now to visit the growing family of grandkids.
Proud to always visit and take in birthdays, sporting events, drama and dance whenever time allowed. Mom retired in Ituna, a fresh start in a new town in her own home, excited by new opportunities to meet new friends, decorate her home exactly as she wished she spent many hours renovating. Always full of ideas to keep busy.
Mom had many interests and may be best remembered for her large gardens, putting flower beds where ever she could, baking, home renovations and valley rides on her quad. The absence of her unconditional love and support to her family will be missed greatly.
Thank you to the physical/occupational therapists at Wascana Rehab for working so diligently with mom and her goal of walking despite her paralysis.
