Leo Schwitzer Obituary

Leo John Schwitzer was born February 6, 1936 to John and Mary Schwitzer. He attended school in Bangor and Pilchak School and Matsqui, British Columbia where the family spent one winter.
Leo was a farmer at heart and joined his father working the family farm. As a young man he worked many jobs away from the farm in Alberta, Ontario and many different locations in Saskatchewan.
Like his father, Leo loved horses and the two of them had some “good ones”. Leo also enjoyed gardening, and flowers were his passion.
He farmed with his brothers until his health started to fail. He decided to retire and moved to Stockholm. He enjoyed retirement, spent many hours with good friends and family.
Leo moved to Esterhazy and made more friends here; he was always well liked. Leo suffered a stroke in 2009 but managed to recover enough to be able to come home. He enjoyed his independence until he needed extra care. He moved into the Special Care Home in Esterhazy and took on the job of watering the flowers. He really enjoyed the children who came to visit. All little people were treated to a treat from Uncle Leo and they knew him as The Candy Man.
Leo was a kind and caring man with a good sense of humour and a big heart. He is predeceased by his parents John and Mary Schwitzer, brother Richard Schwitzer, sisters Lorna Rusu and Jeanette Munro, brother in-law Phillip Rusu and great-nephew Leo Valen Schwitzer.
Leo is survived by brother Darwin (Pat) Schwitzer, brother Don (Jan) Schwitzer, brother-in-law Jim Munro, brother Jack Schwitzer (Heather McAuley), sister Margaret (Bill) Topp sister Linda Schwitzer, sister Diane (Alvin) Senft, Ruth Schwitzer and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Leo passed away December 23, 2019 with family by his side.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
