Craig “Smokey” Stokes of Round Lake, Saskatchewan passed away at the age of 62 years on July 19th, 2019, after a year long illness. Craig is predeceased by his parents Fred and Joyce Stokes, formerly of Dubuc, Saskatchewan. Craig is survived by his wife Karen Stokes and sons Jesse Stokes (Manon), Fuji Stokes (Stephanie), Riley Woytas (Denae), and Scott Woytas (Ari) as well as four grandchildren; sister Barb Siebert (Dave); and brothers, Ray Stokes (Sandy), Rod Lewis (Lucy), Todd Lewis (Terry); as well as a number of nieces and nephews and his best friend Brant Gyug. Craig will also be missed by friends too numerous to mention.
Craig lived life with a passion that could be matched by few. As a husband, father, pa, son-in-law, brother, uncle, mentor, coach, safety instructor, competitor, friend or teammate, Craig was known as “the best”. Smokey was a life-long Melville Millionaire’s fan, Philadelphia Flyers fan, and Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. Craig impacted the lives of hundreds of kids as a hockey coach and mentor.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Craig’s life.
