Graham “Shorty” Hughes, 85 years, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on October 24, 2019. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas Grant. Shorty is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joy; 3 sons, Kim (Heather), Guy (Maureen) and Greg (Lisa); daughter-in-law, Raylene Witt; grandchildren, Shawna (Skott) Enns, Carly (Tyler) Hogan, Cole and Jordan Hughes-Witt; great grandchildren, Floyd and Moses Enns, Libby Hogan; brother-in-law, Gordie Robertson. Shorty grew up in Smith Falls, Ontario. At a young age he ventured to western Canada and the Yukon before settling in Saskatchewan. It was in Regina where he found the love of his life, Joy. He married Joy in 1955 and resided in Regina for 10 years. When they had the 4 boys they moved to Kipling. Shorty began his career with Saskpower as a lineman and then became gas fitter serviceman. Shorty was on the original gas crew for Saskpower. Shorty and family made a move back to Regina where Shorty began to operate his own business. An opportunity arose for Shorty to rejoin Saskenergy in Esterhazy as a gas fitter. Shorty’s biggest pride and happiness was his family. Shorty was an avid outdoorsman enjoying many days with his family skiing, fishing, camping and hunting. Shorty also enjoyed golf and playing bridge.
